It is amazing to see the luxury real estate market in the Catalina Foothills has changed so little from last year to this year. Last year for the same time period there were 88 homes sales and for this year there were 89 home sales for the price range 800K and up in the zip codes 85750 and 85718.
Pima Canyon came in as the real winner with 12 homes sold so far this year versus last year for the same time period with only 7 homes sold. this year Alta Vista has had 9 homes sold so far this year versus last year for the same time period with only 2 homes sold; clearly another winner. Ventana Canyon has only had 7 this year in this price range versus last year with 9 home sales. La Paloma had 7 last year and the same figure this year! Skyline Country Club had less this year at 5 versus last year at 7 total luxury home sales. Cat 10 went down a little bit from 9 luxury home sales to 7 this year.
So what does this tell us? It tells us the luxury real estate market in the Catalina Foothills is stable. Home sales figures still are well below the peak of the market prices in 2007 and 2008 with little or no appreciation. It is still too early to tell what will happen this winter. Will there be many more luxury home sales in 2018? Will the prices appreciate? A lot may depend on the stock market – will it continue to go up? I will continue to report and let you know!
